All I can say is the seafood is some of the best tasting and most reasonably priced I've ever had. I love this place.

Let's start with the good: the food is pretty good here. They have really great fried shrimp here--the batter is reminiscent of KFCs batter--nice and crunch without being overwhelming or doughy. The blackened shrimp was also great. My husband's mahi was blackened well. The ahi tuna tataki was a big disappointment--the slices were very thin and on one side of the tuna it wasn't even seared. It came with no soy sauce, but instead had an orange ginger glaze drizzled over top it. We would have asked for soy sauce, but our server, Tara, never even bothered to check in with us while we were eating it. Which leads me to the bad... The manager (a lady with short reddish colored hair in her late 40s, early 50s) had her back to us for about 3 minutes. She then asked who needed a table (back still to us). We told her we needed a table for two. She led us to our table, never making eye contact and told us our server would be with us shortly. Five minutes later, Tara, our server, arrived. Tara never checked in with us for our appetizer. She gave my husband Diet Coke instead of Coke. When we were done with our entrees, I had about 10 shrimp left (I got the pick two--blackened and fried) and I wanted a box. Before I could even ask for one, she took my husband's empty coleslaw ramekin and put it on my plate. When I told her I would like a box, she removed the ramekin, but she should have asked--I mean, most servers would see 10 shrimp and think to ask if the patron wanted a box, right? We then wanted dessert, but she brought our check. We asked for a dessert menu and she dropped it off. She suggested the peanut butter pie. We obliged and she left the menu and my now empty entree plate on our table. The entree plate was not cleared until she brought out the pie slice. The menu remained. The pie was so rich and dense, it was overwhelming. The bottom crust was completely overcooked--it was like sawing through wood--no exaggeration! This caused us to leave half of the pie there. She never asked how it was nor checked in on us, as she had already run our debit card. We are 50/50 on whether or not we will return--the food overall was pretty good (minus the peanut butter pie), but the service was AWFUL!

This place is great! It's good to go with a small or large group. It is located in Indian rocks beach and is easy to access and park. My complaint here is that we made reservations for a large group which they accepted and when we arrived, they said that they don't have or take reservations. In the end, our party had to split up into two tables which was fine. On to the food.... Steamed mussels and raw oysters are a MUST. Grilled crab cakes and lobster pasta were also great. They even made a seafood pasta for one of us with a requested sauce which we enjoyed. Can't wait to come back!

We come here now two to three times a week or more. We haven't found a more delicious menu. We have found nice and friendly staff and great prices and almost perfect consistency on the food. We can not say enough about the food and how amazing it is. Hands down one of the best burgers we have ever ate. The crab chowder is one of my favorites and my friends love the variety of oysters. I love the mahi sandwich and my boyfriend loves the shrimp poboy or the grouper sandwich. Also the cheesy mashed potatoes are addictive and I have never had a better chocolate and peanut butter pie. Omg to kill for but you need to share.

What a fun, quirky place. The atmosphere has to be seen to be believed. Tons of pink flamingos, oink walls, and paper towels hanging on pink coat hangers off the ceiling. It isn't fancy by any means, but clean. Our waiter explained the nights specials. One of those was the $3 margarita, which was not worth it. It was tasty, yet we couldn't detect any alcohol in it. I had ordered the grouper sandwich, a steal at $11. Wow. Delicious. The blackening seasoning was delicious. The grouper tasted so fresh. The fries were just okay, like the rest of our party's sides. The rest of the seafood was awesome, except the crab cake. I didn't try it, but apparently it was mushy and had a weird flavor to it. We're originally from Baltimore, so we know what a real crab cake is--crab, Old Bay, horseradish, and some other seasonings. NO bread, NO cream. The fried green tomatoes were also average. With friendly service and fresh seafood, this makes Lulu's a better alternative to Crabby Bills down the road.

This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is casual and beachy feeling. Colorful, light and bright, feels spacious and comfortable. The waitress was adorable and very sweet, excellent service, very friendly and attentive. The menu is huge, excellent variety. They have a full bar as well and lots of good drink specials. The food was super fresh. Turns out they have their own boats and catch their own seafood. The blackened mahi-mahi was particularly outstanding. The scallops were called "Boston scallops", never heard of them, they are almost as big as sea scallops and just as delicious! The grilled shrimp and sides were amazing, super fresh. When we "checked in" on yelp, we got a free appetizer; fish spread, it was delicious, a little like tuna fish salad with crackers. Great selection of delicious sounding desserts, but was way too stuffed to try any of them. I really can't think of anything negative to report about this restaurant. The service, atmosphere, variety, quality, preparation, taste, ingredients and value for the money are all outstanding. It's in a very nice area with great beaches. I would highly recommend this place for a home cooked, non-chain, sole-proprietor type restaurant that's local and authentic. Try it, you won't be sorry.

I can't believe I hadn't been to this place sooner...everything my boyfriend and i had there was absolutely delicious. They seriously have THE best hush puppies (yes, hush puppies!) i've ever had. Their crab legs were delicious. Their clam strips were the best I've had anywhere on the beach. Oh, and their oysters were wonderful. Great beer selection. Super cute, very casual atmosphere. When we first walked in it seemed like our waitress was just a tad overwhelmed - but they'd just had a huge lunch rush. After she brought our drinks and apps, everything went a lot smoother. She was great and very helpful and made sure we had all we needed. Definitely looking forward to going back!

We vacation to Indian Rocks Beach twice a year and we always stop at PJ's when we arrive, followed by a visit before we leave and a couple in between. Last year, as we left, PJs was taking down their dollar bills and moving across the street. We still keep this tradition, but we will be visiting Lulu's every year now as least once now! Food was good. I was suffering with a head cold and couldn't taste a damn too good, so I went with the philly cheese steak instead of getting an expensive seafood platter. It was great! Waitress told us it is own by Crabby Bill's, which is where I am right now. Both good eats but CB's is one of the best!

  • Nancy H.

Wow!! Forget Crabby Bill's and come next door. Lulu's has it! We tried to done at Crabby Bill's and it was very crowded with a long wait. We are so glad that we came to Lulu's. The smoked fish dip is superb. Fresh breaded clam strips are to die for. Cole slaw is good and handed breaded oysters are superb. Paper towels hang from the ceiling on pink hangers. Very good! Will look forward to another visit.

I paroused YELP Specifically looking for seafood close to my hotel. There were tons of options but Lulu's reviews and prices were good so I decided to give them a try. I ordered take-out and the lady on the phone was warm, inviting and friendly. My food was ready in time when I picked it up & unlike a ton of restaurants I've encountered they didn't try to raise the prices of my items and play the "our prices have changed but we haven't updated our website" game so many others have played. On to the FOOD! I ordered the Lulu's seafood pasta, crab soup, Coconut shrimp and crab cake. For the pasta, the Portion size was good and the flavor was decent. The noodles was perfectly prepared and they didn't skimp with the seafood portions. The sauce was so so. It was edible. But lacked in flavor. Tasted like the marinara you'd use for calamari. Not a flavor packed sauce for a pasta. The coconut Shrimp. Yum! It was some of the best coconut shrimp I'd ever had. Large, great coconut ratio, well seasoned, not too bready & far from greasy. I will Def order again! The price of $8 was great too! The crab soup was really good as well. Every soupy slurp was full of crab. The crab cake was tasty. I had it grilled. The top and center was moist and delicious. The bottom was a bit charred. But when dipped in the sauce I was able to overlook it. Overall, for the service, price& food it was 2 thumbs up. Except for the coconut shrimp none of the food was so good I felt the need to order there the next 2 days I'll be in town. I'm going to try other places out but this one is worth a shot.

The food was so bland, the salmon didn't even taste like anything. The portion was great however irrelevant due to the lack of flavor. The fish spread was good, but if you can't make mayo and smoked fish taste good then you really got a problem. My step mom had a fish bone in her mashed potatoes. The grouper chowder was an oily mess and it seemed like the fish was just plopped on top because it didn't soak up the flavor of the soup one bit. Personally I also hate the plastic cups, bringing you a new cups for each water refill. So so so wasteful.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LULU'S OYSTER BAR AND TAP HOUSE. Although as you can see in my review it was not 100% in all aspects. We tried a restaurant down the road and was told up to a 2 hour wait. We left and kept driving until we got to LuLu's which I saw was rated great on Yelp. Seeing they had a line a mile long out the door I just bit the bullet and figured we would have to wait for at least an hour. When we gave our name to the very nice hostess she said ehh about 20 minutes or so if that is ok? to which I replied "ABSOLUTELY". We waited for the table at the bar which was half empty. The two bar tenders were very nice and let me sample as many beers as I wanted to until I made my selection. Once I made my selection they were extremely busy but on several occasions took time to talk to us, as us if we are enjoying the area, let us even try a sample of a few interesting drinks they were making. GREAT EXPERIENCE. When we sat down the table was spacious and I was glad it was just out side of the main line to and from the bathroom and kitchen because this place was PACKED!!!. The waitress was very polite and attentive at first. I showed her my free app of onion rings they give for checking in on Yelp (very nice) and she put that in right away. The waitress was very prompt on returning with refills to our drinks both alcoholic and non but we started to wonder what was taking so long for the food....or even our app?? Knowing how busy they were and how great the experience was we didn't pay it too much attention until we started noticing a table that sat down after us had gotten their food before us. Then I started getting a little annoyed......and paying closer attention. I saw 2 then 3 then 4 more tables that sat after us got their food before we even got out app. Waitress comes by and apologizes probably because she saw my frustration level rising. I then mentioned what about the appetizer? She looked a little puzzled then quickly tried to cover it up with oh that should have already been here let me check on it (I knew she forgot to put it in but who cares it was free). What do you know 1 minute later the appetizer showed up and 1 minute after that our food shows up......SOMEONE OBVIOUSLY screwed up. No worries THE FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL. I was at first a little disappointed I had to change my entree as they ran out of 4 different menu items but I was quite happy with my meal. One of the best seafood meals I have had in a long time. I chose the pick 3 with fried cat fish, fried shrimp and blackened mahi mahi. Everything was cooked to perfection and the sides were great too!!! I do have to say the waitress upon taking our order kept trying to push this honey butter?? mixture to dip certain things in. She said she would bring two over one for my wife and one for myself but it never showed up?? As we were basically done eating she brought 1 over of which was pretty bad. Maybe it wasn't warmed enough or mixed enough?? Although we had some issues with the service the overall establishment was above my expectations. The food was great and the employees were wonderful. I will most definitely come back in the future.

Love this place! The food and atmosphere were both superb. The catfish I ordered was amazing! The fish spread and hush puppies were delicious starters. I also like that you get to keep your drink cups as a souvenir. The wait staff was super friendly and the restaurant was very clean.

Stopped in today for lunch. Ashely was our server. Everything we was great- service fast. Food is very good and beer selection was spot on. What I like a Lulus over the place across the street : Lulus seems more relaxed- more comfortable - and just less corporate. You will like this place if your looking for oysters - seafood in IRB.

The sushi was good. The food was average. The beer was cold. They only have one Japanese beer on tap. All others were bottle. Go for the sushi.

It's a very casual place, it's all pink and has flamingos everywhere. There are rolls of papet towel hanging from hangers above each table. Not fancy at all. The food is great, and the service was great too. Dan was our server and he was impecable. He was in every detail and didn't miss one single thing of our order. Very friendly, he made our stay better!!!!!! I give 5 stars to Dan, 4 to the food, and 3 to the decoration, so 4 stars in total.

Quirky place, but friendly, attentive staff and owners. Food is quite good. The Salmon and Grouper sandwiches were great. Ambience is typical beach eclectic, and is well maintained and clean. Can be loud when busy. This was our third visit, and have never had issues with rude or inadequate service. We've been happy with our meals, with one exception. The fried clams had the consistency of breaded, fried shoe leather. The owners were very nice, explained that this was a vendor issue, and took it off our bill. A step up from the usual beach joints.

Delicious food. Great service. What more could one want? We ordered oyster sampler (4 of each type they have).. It was great. The blackened mahi mahi was some of the best I've had. Purple Haze on tap :) Fish spread as an appetizer was amazing . Great hush puppies with homemade honey butter. 1 lb. of muscles was A. LOT. of food! Awesome, casual atmosphere. Lisa was our server...again... Service was awesome!

Tried Lulu's last night with friends and had a good time. We started with a dozen raw blue Points and a free fish spread. Thanks to Yelp check in. I had tuna, my friends had catfish and ribs. Everything was good and I enjoyed Lulu's lemonade with Vodka. We will be back. They do not take reservations, but on Sunday night, there was no wait!

Lulu's is in the old PJ's spot. The decor hadn't changed since PJ's and the food is just ok. I found the Grouper cheeks to be tiny Grouper bits nothing like real grouper cheeks if you've ever had them before. Reasonably priced, but you might as well go across the street where the wait staff is genuinely friendly and doesn't act like they are doing you a favor,

    (2)
  • Keith B.

Nice Addition to IRB LuLu's has taken over the space where PJ's was for many years. PJ's moved across the street and LuLu's has spruced up and brightened the interior. We really enjoyed the fried oysters, grilled shrimp, and grilled Mahi. Service was a little slow and they could stand a little extra training. But everyone was pleasant. Prices were reasonable. I would happily return.

Great place for fun seafood at a reasonable price. Came in for the free smoke fish appetizer spread, received a warm greeting and was served quickly. We had Mahi sandwich and grouper Po'Boy sandwich. Both were awesome! Their LuLu hot sauce was taste and not too strong. Has been opened since October 2014 and is owned by Crabby Bills. Hush puppies were tasty and have seasoned fries that taste great. Will be back to try thief oysters and clams!

Great Food! Our waitress, "Rose" was so friendly and made out family's first visit wonderful. The Hushpuppy's, Groper Sandwich, Catfish Sandwich, Fish and Chips and the Chocolate Cake were delicious!!!! My family of 5 percent will be back!

This place was great. Renee here is super friendly and totally on top of your experience to make sure you are all good. Seafood is pretty good and the beer is great. The only thing that would make this place better is if it had a view of the water. Will be back!

I wanted oysters and, as the name implies, they had the fix. I sat at the bar with my wife. She had beer (good selection) and I had a cider. Drink service was quick and attentive and our bartender was fun and good with the conversation. They had three oysters to choose from and all of them were super fresh. The oysters were very clean--no shell bits or dirt to get in the way of slurping down an oyster. This is a good spot for oysters in the area. I didn't try anything else but the food looked good and affordable. I'll be back the next time I visit my grandparents based on service alone. This is a fun place.

  • Jay S.

Excellent food and value. Free onion rings, friendly host and wait staff. 2 non fish eaters loved the pasta. The Mahi and Grouper were super good, fresh, tasty and perfectly prepared. Great family meal. 5 stars on all counts. We will be back.

Not for the locals. Save yourself! This place is a big smelly joke. We live in Tampa and decided to try an all you can eat crab place. We were so disappointed! The crab legs were tiny and waterlogged. There was a strange smell coming from the kitchen that was just terrible. Margaritas are too sweet. Service was very slow but our waitress was sweet. Lulu seemed very rude and angry. She had a lot going on with the strange smell she was trying to cover up in the kitchen. It was probably just an abundance of overcooked crab water. It is definitely one of those places that only tourists come, so it doesn't really matter if the food is good or not.

Maybe it's because I'm not a big seafood eater, but this place is average at best. The food and service are mediocre at best. I doubt I would bother going back here. Hush puppies had no flavor and were so dense they were kinda yucky. Wings were ok. Nothing was fabulous or even just really good.

Very casual place close to the beach. This used to be PJ's old location and has a very similar menu. I've eaten here many times. some of my favorites are the Kicking Crab Soup - has a nice spice to it; the oysters, both fresh and the Chicago Style which is my kids favorites; On Sundays, they have all you can eat Snow Crab legs for $22.99. They also, have a good beer selection. As an added bonus, the wait is never as long as it is at PJs.

Tonight my family and I stopped at Lulus for a quick bite to eat. After walking in and sitting down , we saw dirty paper towels hanging above us on a coat hangers as "napkins" to use. Even though the atmosphere was dirty and cluttered we decided to give it a try after hearing great reviews from the locals. After getting our food , one of my family members described they're seafood spaghetti dish as a "bowl of sand". Both stakes that we ordered were salty , dry and "not a prime cut " as described on the menu , grouper was described as a overly salted. All and all the entrees were over priced , salty and mediocre. Worst 180 dollars I've ever spent

After hearing wonderful reviews we decided to visit Lulu's for dinner. The craft beer menu was great and my husband ordered a flight of four beers while I tried the house specialty, the Dirty Bird, which was yummy. Dinner started with the oyster appetizer which was great. Unfortunately that's where it all downhill. The restaurant was not crowded (empty tables scattered about) but our waitress seemed to be "in the weeds" the whole time. The dinner was The Cobia special with slaw and fries. Small portion of fish with little flavor. Gave it a 4 out of 6. The service however was horrible. Having been a waitress through college I understand being " in the weeds", but simple solutions help such as pre-busing the table. Each time our waitress came by and we asked for another drink or butter, she left without taking a single dirty glass or plate. By the time we got our dinner (which was cold) there was no room on the table, but she managed to put our dinner down without removing a single item! We never got our second round of drinks, even though I watched the waitress stand at the end of the bar for seven minutes, she somehow forgot ours and finally telling us the bartender lost our order. No comping, no free desert and no water. My idea would be to have a drink runner so no one is left thirsty, and we all know the liquor makes them the most money! Genius! We will give it one more shot because anyone can have a bad night but overall we gave it a 6/10 for food and a 3/10 for service.

Awesome place!! It's noisy and fun (love the 10 ft tall flamingos with hula hoops!); great place to take kids. Our server, Dan was very friendly, funny, and attentive. He knew the menu and drinks like the back of his hand and made great recommendations. We started with a dozen oysters and the fish spread (free for checking in with yelp!). I'm not crazy about oysters, but they looked great and everyone seemed to enjoy them. The fish spread is the best I have had in a while. It's made with marlin, mahi, and cobia. They have great craft beers on tap, too..like cigar city, purple haze, and some local grapefruit varieties. For dinner, the little ones got the grilled cheese and chicken fingers. Everyone agreed, the grilled cheese was delicious!! And the chicken fingers were lightly breaded with thick pieces of chicken. The rest of us ordered various seafood entrees: blackened mahi sandwich, grilled grouper sandwich, clam strips, and fried shrimp. The fish was all very fresh with great flavor and the portion sizes were large. The clam strips had a good amount of clam meat in them and the breading was thin and crispy. If you are undecided, the "pick 2 or 3" option is the way to go. You can try a couple seafood items and you get 2 sides, too. Ask for a side of remoulade sauce-it's perfect sauce for dipping anything. I'm glad we stopped in and we will definitely go back again.

Food is always good here. We get the fish dip and Chicago Oysters every time. The oysters are a little smaller than I like , but are always fresh and clean. Service has always been good ,the waitstaff seems well informed on their menu selections. Some of the fish served is caught daily (they use their own boats) and is as good as any I've had. Great beer selection, reasonably priced.

Delicious food, great service, awesome recommendations, can't wait to come back! We had lunch here just based off the yelp reviews we saw, and were very happy with the food and prices here, we came during happy hour and had a couple margaritas along with steamed shrimp, scallops and oysters. Everything was delicious, well worth the stop!

I am a fan of Lulu's. Flew down to visit the area for a few days and found this fantastic place for lunch on Yelp. The fried catfish sandwich lunch special was tasty at $5.99. The grouper sandwich $11 was delicious. We ordered the boiler oysters to share and it was delightful. The server recommended an IPA on special $3 was perfect. From the point we walked in, the service was friendly and welcoming. I strongly recommend LuLu's for the food, large tap selection, and outstanding service. This is not a fancy place but a great place to stop by for a drink, hang out and delicious seafood. They also serve buffalo wings.

Surprised at how slow it was. Diner was excellent. Did the yelp check-in thing and got the free fish spread, It was so good I almost didn't need the crackers. Could have just eaten it out of my hand.Had the Cobia dinner special.Very good light white fish. Wife had the crab cakes and said they were great. A couple of adult beverages to wrap things up and all's right with the world. You will enjoy this place.

Oysters are not fresh. I ordered oyster sampler, it was not good at all. Oysters were not spoiled, but taste of freshness that you expect from oysters was long gone. I don't know how many times they were frozen and unfrozen, but they tasted a little bit better than rubber. Service was excellent. Bloody Mary was good, but oysters killed it.

First, pulled into the parking lot and realized we came here last year, only it was PJs then. They have now moved across the street and LuLu has taken over at this spot. We scored a free appetizer (smoked fish spread) for checking in on Yelp. This is like tuna salad, but made with flaky smoked white fish, mayo and spices. Spread it on a cracker and top with hot sauce...good stuff. Next, we had a dozen Chicago style oysters, which means they were topped with Parmesan and butter and maybe some Old Bay. They are small but delicious. For our entree we had scallops, grilled shrimp and blackened grouper. Everything was delicious and not over-priced. I thought the blackened grouper was really salty (and I'm usually the one who adds salt to everything). I would have gone five stars if it had been more peppery and less salty. The atmosphere here is very casual, ladies, no makeup required.

Pleasant surprise! We took some out of town friends to this place thinking it was PJ and I wondered why it so clean, PJ was missing after we ordered two dozen oysters. The waitress reply was they moved across the street. By that time it was too late LOL to leave. And I was glad. The oysters were pretty fresh and the beer was cold. Were the first customer that evening to arrive. My buddy had the lobster pasta, and his wife had salmon and I had the mussels and my wife had the grouper salad. It was delish, I'd go back if PJ is crowded. The service was great by the way, our waitress like one of the Olsen twin, she was great.

First off, the staff here rock! Use your yelp fish spread coupon here as a nice appetizer. The clams and oysters are delish! They local brews on tap are definitely worth a try, the coconut beer is surprisingly wonderful.

  • Brett G.

Good prices and great food. The oysters did lack flavor....I tried four different types. Perhaps it was just an off night for their oysters. Nonetheless, the hush puppies were awesome, the snow crabs were as good as anywhere else, and the kids loved their chicken tenders and Mac and cheese. Speaking of Mac...our server Mack was terrific. She was always there for a refill and super nice with the kiddies. Great server! Only complaint is the cucumber and tomato salad. Please fix this! Awful. It's just some cut up cucumbers and tomatoes with some poppyseed dressing poured on top. That's not a proper cuc & tomato salad!

  • Danna T.

My husband and 4 other friends went to dinner and we were all surprised at how good it was. I have been to crabby bills and PJ's Oyster bar which both are across the street and have long lines and this place we got right in and was better than both of the others. I had fried clams and scallops and they were really good especially the scallops. A lot of the others had the grouper special with mango salsa and said they really liked it. I will be going back.

We enjoyed everything we ate here..from the onion rings to the gator bites to the raw oysters (EXCEPT the Quonset variety was NOT for me), and finally the steamed shrimp. Kids had great meals too, and the service was excellent (Ashley was our server, Rachel was a manager who visited with us and gave us a few minutes of her time)!

Came here for dinner after the beach. Glad there wasn't a wait despite how busy they were! I had the lulu bread & shrimp chowder. My boyfriend had the grouper burger & really liked it. We also had gator & onion rings for appetizers. We were drawn by the alligator tail appetizer (recommended), but the entire meal was yummy! The service was quick & everything is decently priced as well. We'll definitely be going back!

Pink flamingos caught my eye. We started out with a warm welcome, open seating, good menu, fresh fish, waitress very attentive. I'll enjoy the promotional complimentary appetizer smoked fish spread. Manager gave us free Lulu hot sauce. Lots of craft beer and reasonnable wine prices. I eat the mahi mahi sandwich with hush puppies generous amount took half home. We later learned that they were owned by crabby bill. Enjoyed!!!

I felt as if the food was below par. Owned by Crabby Bills, sorry, food was bad. Old school crabby was great, but like everything, can't stay #1 forever

I have lived here for 16 years and am very familiar with beach food and service. I went to Lulu's shortly after it opened last year and had a marginal experience with the food. A friend invited 5 of us to go last night and I decided to give it another try. I read in current Yelp reviews that the food was good but service a problem. This visit reinforced that. It took us near 30 minutes to get our drink order, and only after we stopped another waiter to find Jason who took our original order. Their signature drink, the Dirty Bird, was sticky sweet with no taste of alcohol. Their craft beers were tasty. I ordered wings done crisp and they came out rubbery. My main course was beer battered grouper with slaw and cheesy potatoes. The sides were very good but the grouper was dry and the batter dark brown and hard rather than golden and crispy. There were 3 staff that brought food and drinks to our table. One didn't know what the other was doing. It was very disorganized. By the time we got the check we were all agreed this was a mistake and will not return.

Comfortable, and reasonably priced (a bit cheaper than some other nearby places). Beachy, but doesn't feel overly touristy. Had the blackened local grouper sandwich and it was amazing. Great service, decent beer selection. Our server Chuck kept our glasses full and was very helpful.

Great food!! We frequently order take out from here. Love that the shrimp are wild & not farmed. Great grouper!!

I don't often write reviews but this was one of the best meals I've ever had. My dining partner and I had the onion rings, conch fritters, kickin' crab soup, oyster Chicago style and the oyster sampler. We can't even pick a favorite. Everything was on point. The crab soup was definitely contending for first place though. Eat here!

Lulu's is owned by Crabby Bill's.. Prompt seating at 1800, we had fried green tomatoes which were hot and done perfectly. Grouper was delicious and I loved the broccoli cooked in garlic butter. Coleslaw was fresh, it needed a little salt or spices. Fried shrimp- great. Cheesy potatoes in a small baking dish was good. Our waiter was Kane, pleasant and busy, and stopped by the table regularly. Manager Rachel stopped to talk- Lulu is the big pink flamingo by the door. We will definitely return.

The best everything! Service, food, drinks, ambience et al. Our server ,Hannah , was awesome, and went out of her way to procure the perfect layered Hawaiian maitai for my man. The oysters were freeessshhh, the fish was delish, the drinks were stong. I had the you pick two combo (blackened mahi mahi and grilled shrimp with sweet potato tots and cheese potatoes) and hubby had the best fried grouper sandwich of his life. The key lime pie was top notch too.

I have been to Lulu's manytimes and have enjoyed their food and atmosphere immensely. I have also been to the other restaurant near them named PJ's . They DO NOT COMPARE! I love shrimp scampi, and know how long it takes to prepare. So I'd rather treat myself to a favorite dish without slaving in the kitchen once in a while! Lulu's version is superb. They also devein the shrimp...a must for anyone who knows ANYTHING about SHRIMP and cooking it properly. PJ's serves the same dish, but without de-veining the shrimp!!! Yuck! People you are literally eating shrimp poop if it's not deveined. I did not eat it! I did eat the green beans. They were delicious. I realize the crowd that frequents PJs goes mostly to drink and socialize. It's a noisy, crowded atmosphere where you can't hear your table mates unless you shout. I suppose it doesn't matter to them how the shrimp is prepared. Maybe they think the alcohol they're drinking will negate the yuck! NOT! PS I GUESS THIS IS A TWO FOR ONE REVIEW! I'll take Lulu's any day!

Two stars for cheap shrimp, crab legs & house wine. Sigh, where to begin....order horseradish for the cocktail shrimp. Our waiter was Justin and he did a fabulous job! My main complaint is with the manager. The entire time we were there she was loud, rude & obnoxious with the staff. Complaining about the muzak & extra phone chargers. Not once did she EVER speak with a customer. The only time she did address us was after we were done & outside smoking. I am hyper aware & try not to offend anyone. She just wanted to point out the smoking bench at the end. No labels or signs. Her attitude alone sucked! Totally & completely unprofessional. She needs demoted back to a server. This is a sister restaurant to crappy bills fyi. Go across the street to the taco place :)

Highlight of my vacation was coming here. Had the dozen oysters for 5$ as well as the peel n eat shrimp and the wings and peanut butter pie. So good and great service and atmosphere! Awesome place and next time I hope to come for the all u can eat crab on Sunday's!

  • Ashley H.

We typically eat All-u-can-eat snow crab legs at the Oyster Shucker at Pass-a-grille beach but decided to give Lulu's a whirl when friends were in town. Great crabs, paper towels hanging from the ceiling above the table (brilliant), sides were good (but not to get in the way of getting your crab's worth), and the atmosphere is great for hanging with good friends. We will not be taking our kids next time. They don't have the longevity needed for AUCE. Def going back.

The only way that Lulu's Oyster Bar could possibly get any better was if it had a view of the beach! My husband and I stopped by Lulu's on our way home from the beach. We didn't realize when we were searching for a spot to grab oysters that this is the former spot that PJs Oyster Bar use to be located at. I can't recall the Happy Hour cocktail that we had, but it was cheap, went down way too easy, and came with a cute flamingo souvenir cup. There was also a nice selection of craft beers on the drink menu. We started off our meal with complimentary smoked fish spread courtesy of checking-in with the Yelp app. The spread was great, especially served with the pickled jalapenos suggested by our waitress. Next we had the Oysters Rockefeller. Whoa, amazing!!! The bacon and hollandaise sauce on the oysters was outstanding. For our entrees my husband ordered the ahi tuna and I ordered the shrimp Po Boy with fries. The waitress mentioned that the tuna had never looked so pretty which would make me hesitate to order this dish again. Does the ahi tuna normally look bad? The shrimp Po Boy was amazing. I couldn't finish my sandwich because I could not stop eating my fries. Normally I eat a fry or two and then ignore them, but these fries were life changing. Perfectly cooked and covered in a zesty seasoning... these fries may be some of the best fries I have ever had! I could not have been more pleasantly surprised at how good the food was at Lulu's. This is definitely our new lunch spot when we visit Indian Rocks Beach!

Being here on business a group of us decided to try Lulu's. Best decision of the day! The grouper cheeks were wonderful and the alligator was done with care and dedication. All of the food was delicious and you really need to try "the feast"! Crab, shrimp, clams, and missiles? Why, yes please! The service was good, the food rocked, and the place... What you want in a local hangout. Be prepared to relax, sit back and enjoy a beer, and eat some really tasty food. Go ahead, you know you want to eat here...

Dirty Birds are yummy, not dirty! How could you talk about Lu lu's specialty drink like that? This drink has coconut rum, pineapple juice, Sprite, & grenadine. If that's too froo froo flamingo for you, how about one of their craft beers? Lu lu's is an oyster bar, so yes you will find oysters, not only that, they have seafood, crab legs, fish, & lobster tail here. For the meat eaters, there are chicken wings, a few chicken dishes, steak, just to name a few. I ordered the Sunday All You Can Eat Crab Legs for $22.99. I probably should have just got the pound of crab legs for $16, but I didn't see that one. I was full, so I definitely didn't get my money's worth, but it was so good. My hubby got grilled chicken with mango salsa. It was not on the menu, but there was a special for tilapia with bbq sauce & mango salsa, so we asked to change it to chicken. There is also a yelp check in for a free Smoked Fish Spread served with saltine crackers. I never had it before, but it was so good, as well as the fries & hush puppies that they served with our food. Our server was awesome. She knew everything about the menu. I asked her about the different oysters as well. Didn't know there were so many. This place is pretty in pink with flamingoes. First thing you will notice is the hanger with paper towel over your head. Quite different & eccentric so I did love it. It also wasn't as loud & crowded like it's neighboring restaurant across the street.

Great dinner at lulu's. First, get the dirty bird! Delicious beachy light cocktail. I had two and normally don't do more than one. Full bar with plenty of options, beer and wine included - lots of options on that front. Decor is cute, beachy, well accessorized and fits the location. You can't not love pink flamingos. I do love the lulus cups too. Our party tried many options; oysters, Greek salad, fish n chips, scallops, salmon and grouper. Everyone left happy and full. My favorites were the scallops and fish and chips. We will be back. Tried it on a whim after seeing reviews and sure glad we did. Our server was very nice and the owner was quite friendly too. A+!

Wow. Exactly what we were looking for at the beach. We were served by Kassidi and Megan, who were fantastic--ultra patient and super knowledgeable about the menu. Appetizers: The night we went, they offered $5 for a dozen oysters on the half shell. Say wha? Not only were they a deal, but they were super delicious! (Make sure to try their LuLu's hot sauce with these!) We ordered the fish spread which was a creamy mixture of multiple fishes--wonderful (and better yet--free when you check in on yelp)! We split a Bowl of the Kickin' crab soup (sorta like a spicy clam chowder but with crab and corn). It was $5, and I loved it. Entrees: We asked our waitress what her favorite thing was on the menu and she said the grouper is extremely popular and very, very good. Trust your waitress! We ordered grouper sandwiches (6 oz. of grouper with lettuce, tomato, onion on a buttery bun) and it was so crazy good. Make sure you ask for the remoulade to go with it. The sandwich comes with one side I got the fries (loved) and my husband got the hush puppies. The honey butter that came with the hush puppies made me want to slap my mama. Once I tried a bite of one off his plate, I stole half of them from him. And I'm not even THAT crazy about hush puppies! They were crunchy on the outside and soft inside. When we go back, I will order a dozen as an appetizer. Children: their entree comes with a drink and only costs $5. My oldest daughter got shrimp/fries and my son and youngest daughter ordered the chicken tenders/fries. They enjoyed everything and were all happy and full. The casual atmosphere and food were fantastic. I highly recommend this place when you come to the beach. It's eclectic, cute, not too fancy, inexpensive prices for the quality of food that's offered, awesome drink specials and great for the kids (crayons kept my Children busy!). Hard to believe they've only been here a short while....the business is running like a well oiled machine. We can't wait to return.

Spunky casual decor with hangers above the table holding paper towels. Its conveniently located by the beach, great for popping in after a day at the beach. I would definitely recommend checking in and getting the free fish dip. Surprisingly, they gave a large helping of it! Wouldnt recommend the wings tho, looks likethey were just cooked and slather up in sauce afterwards.

The seafood was great! The chocolate cake is great and enough for 4. We will eat here every night while we're here.

Fun atmosphere! It's a wonderfully kitschy, beachy restaurant. The flamingos everywhere, the paper towel rolls hanging from pink hangers above each table, the wall of decorated dollar bills that apparently "regulars" enjoy pointing out each year when they return, all contribute to a really nice vacation spot. Oh. Our food was really delicious, too. A check-in got us a free smoked fish paste which was served unceremoniously with packets of saltines. It was even tastier with a dab of hot sauce on top. My blackened grouper was cooked well, not too overdone, and the sides of hushpuppies and steamed broccoli were also well prepared. I tried the sweet potato bites my dad ordered and was happy they were actually pretty crispy on the outside. Yum! I was there with my sober parents so I didn't partake of any of the awesome beers (which you can get 4 of for an $8 flight!), but I'd like to go back to enjoy the cheap drinks sometime.

This was one of several area restaurants we lucked out discovering during a beach getaway weekend. From beginning to end our experience was top notch...we couldn't have had a better meal. The restaurant is really cute and has a whole beach shack/flamingo motif with Lulu being the pink flamingo mascot. Upon walking in , we were greeted right away and seated promptly. There is so much to take in from all the Florida beach memorabilia and posters to the bar with the flashing "Lulu's Bar" up in bright lights. Above every table is a wire hangar holding a roll of paper towels for your convenience which I love and shows that this place obviously doesn't take itself too seriously! Just a fun vibe all around! My friends had drinks to start , one had the signature Lulu's flamingo punch and another had a craft beer. We decided to share an order of the hushpuppies with honey butter and the fish dip! The honey butter was mostly honey so when you dipped the hushpuppies you got the sticky sweet gooeyness of the honey with the creamy sweetness of butter. It was a heavenly combination. The fish dip was great on the crackers and disappeared quite quickly. Both appetizers were home runs for us! For my entrée, I decided to be an eeensy bit better and went with the grilled mahi which came with my choice of 2 sides. I went with the veggies and the cheesy potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly and I loved how well the mahi mahi and broccoli were seasoned. The cheesy potatoes were just that...mashed potatoes with a melted layer of cheese on top. They were super creamy and thankfully my friend helped me dig into. Our server was just fabulous and so attentive and on top of her game! Even as the restaurant was nearing closing time, she never made us feel rushed and really accommodated our every need. Great atmosphere, food and service.....this place has been unofficially designated our go to spot when dining in Indian Rocks Beach!

Good food and great service! Our family went here for oysters and drinks before cooking dinner in that night. Mack was very friendly and attentive. We ordered several oyster samplers which allowed our party to try the various types offered that day. We also ended up getting the fish spread and ahi tuna appetizer for those that didn't love oysters. The craft beer selection was good and the well drink price can't be beat!

Rachel the Manager really saved my butt last week. I originally had a company dinner event planned for 40 people down the street. Florida temps dropped into the 40's and we desperately need a new location that could accommodate indoor seating on short notice. Rachel did a great job getting their dining room set up to seat all of us quickly and her staff provided great customer service the entire evening. Thank you!

I was excited to try this place based on the reviews. It says tap house so I figured it'd be more of a bar type atmosphere but it's not. It reminded me of a diner. They do have some nice beers on tap though, but I felt like I should be drinking a milkshake instead of a beer. OK so let's get to the food, gator was delicious! Raw oysters not so much and 15$ a dozen. Tasted a little old and gritty. Service was excellent! Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Was given a wilted salad with old lettuce ( a lot of brown edges and soft croutons) Ewww. That right there was the first thing that tuned me out. Maybe salads are not their forte. Oysters were good though. Service was good and friendly. I expected more from everyone's reviews of the place. I also ordered the ribs. Wasn't pleased at all. The experience was good at best the food was lacking. Service can't make up for the food in my book!

We had a fantastic time at the Lulu's. First let me say that accommodate a very large group of us with barely any warning. When we got there we hardly had to wait for them to put tables together for us. The food was out of this world, and the service absolutely fantastic. I would definitely recommend this gem to anyone.

We stopped in during the first week of May. We were staying in Clearwater Beach and made the trip down due to the rave reviews. Needless to say, Lulu's lived up to their reputation. The food was great and the service was exceptional. They boast a wide variety of beers on tap, including the much loved Jai Alai IPA. This place is definitely worth your business.

We went there on Friday night, I was excited to try this place. The restaurant was almost empty, the manager opened the door for us and sat us right away. We then just sat there for 15 minutes, no water no drinks no one even said we will be right with you. We watched every waiter walk by us. We then got up and went across the street to PJs . As locals we were really excited about a new place to eat at but with this poor service we won't be back.

Saw this place on yelp and decided to give it a try because of the great reviews. Walked in, very friendly and we got a table right away. Clean place and atmosphere. Ordered the Rockefeller oysters which were amazing! We then ordered the blackened grouper sandwich and also a beer battered grouper sandwich. Both were amazing! I live in Florida and it was the best grouper sandwich I have tasted! We will definitely be coming back here. Their selection of beers are on point! A lot to choose from!

Came here after a friend told me about the extensive beer selection. Boy, was she correct. There was a full page of beer items from PBR to craft brews. Mackenzie was our waitress and she was attentive, friendly and helpful. The manager, Rachel, greeted us and checked on us during the meal. Our meal was excellent. I LOVE catfish. This was some of the best I've ever had. Huge menu selection. Can't say enough good about this place. Will come back again and again.

My party of three thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Lulu's. It started with a free (for checking in here on yelp) fish spread that was yummy. I had the fish and chips which featured a marvelous piece of haddock. It was very flaky and the fish was thicker than the breading, which so often is not the case with fish and chips. The sweet potato bites were excellent as were the cheesy potatoes. It is a casual laid back experience and probably the most fun dining experience we have had all week. And for the record, their paper towel holders are genius.

Went there on a cold Saturday night on the beach and was pleasantly surprised with the service. Our server, Ben, was very attentive and friendly. The food was great and ok. Had the lulus bread and oysters to start- Both were great and would recommend to anyone. Coconut shrimp needed to drain the oil alittle more, but flavor was good and the pineapple sauce was delicious. I needed more. We also had the blackened grouper sandwich and it was HUGE. I'm not a grouper fan, but tried a bite and it was super fresh with a right amount of heat. BF loved it. We will be back again.

Seven of us went here last night and it was awesome!! Every one of us had an amazing meal (steamed clams, stone crab, salmon, lobster) and Chuck our waiter was the bomb. Prices are right and drinks were great! Highly recommended by 7 picky women!

I have eaten here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. I had a blackened grouper sandwich and my wife had clam strips. I also had raw oysters as an appetizer. For lunch we both had fried grouper sandwiches. The food was great and service was friendly. One other observation the tables are spread out enough where you don't feel on top of each other.

Went there last night. All I can say is you gotta go there. My son has food allergies and we had to ask a few questions. They went out of there way to answer our questions. Food was perfect, service outstanding. We had fried green tomatoes, grilled shrimp and we ordered 2 grouper po-boy. You will not be disappointed.

Went here with family while visiting in the area. First off, staff was very friendly and helpful. All said hello and made me feel very welcome. I had the blackened grouper sandwich after having that recommended by my family who had been there before. Best overall fish sandwich I have ever had. The fish was very fresh and cook very well. My side of fries were good also. Everyone in our group of five was very happy with their orders. Also, very nice selection of beers, even some local brands. Overall, excellent lunch. I will return.

Was here again last night and again, very good. We had the same server, Mackenzie, and service was great. Blackened grouper was fresh and perfectly cooked. Dining partner got a very nicely done burger. The menu has been changed slightly, but I'm not sure how to post it since I uploaded the original version...anyhow, give this place a try.

Been twice, the first time the service was so bad and it took so long to get our food the whole meal was comped. Went back again a week or so later and the service was just as bad; it's blatantly apparent the staff is undertrained if they're even trained at all. The food is good, although cold, and the only thing that earned Lulu's 2 stars instead of 1 are the oysters, they're great. We are locals that won't be coming back, it's just not worth the hassle.

  • Cameron C.

I don't quite understand why the reviews for this place are so good. What is the point of Yelp if 95% of the people reviewing are misleading and false with their reviews. I may just be overly harsh, but seriously. 4 and 1/2 stars? Give me a break. I went with my family and had an Oyster Sampler, Coconut Shrimp, and Fries. The Oysters were good, but then again, all they did is opened them and put them on a platter, so kudos to that. The Coconut Shrimp that I had was 8$ and it came with 5 little shrimp, and also on the plate there was a large leaf of romaine lettuce as if anybody wants to eat a plain piece of lettuce with their fried shrimp. But I may be wrong. The fries where cold but decent. And the service was pretty good. The reason why I am being so harsh is because everyone else was so misleading. And also this is not a tap house. Small and common selection of beer. I would not go back, and I would not recommend going.

Yum! We were greeted by our waitress, Cassandra, who was extremely attentive and friendly with us. We tried the fried alligator tail after reading other reviews. It was excellent. The Caesar salad with shrimp was a huge salad and you got a large plate of shrimp to accompany it. We ordered the pick 3 with fried clams, fried oysters, and broiled scallops. Each type of seafood was excellent along with the sides of broccoli and hushpuppies. Both of these were delicious. We also had the mussels which were tasty and abundant. The owner came by to chat with us and we learned Lulu's has only been open 11 weeks. We would definitely go back!

Oysters on the half shell were terrible! We had the mixed dozen and not only were they not shucked properly - still attached to the shell - they were dirty and dry, no oyster liquor, they were actually dry! How Lulu's can call itself an Oyster House is beyond me! The grouper was also not good, dry, flavorless, and tough! For as many great seafood restaurants as there are in this area, I can't believe the number of stars others rated this place, must be friends of the owners. All I can say, is Lulu's won't last!

Had a very good experience. Everyone is quite friendly and helpful. Grouper cheeks blackened were amazing and not to be missed. Try them with Lulu's sauce. Looking forward to trying the craft beers next visit.

What a wonderful restaurant! The menu is extensive, and dynamic, with everything from alligator tail (phenomenal) to catfish (seasoned to perfection) to lobster tail and stone crab! The options are almost endless both sea and land dishes. Their draft and bottle beer selection is a beer lovers paradise.. Any local or other specialty craft you love.. They have and then some new ones! Even their side dishes are fresh and eclectic, such as the cucumber tomato salad (sounds simple but is soo good), hush puppies or cheesy potatoes! The service was one of the best parts of my experience.. And we felt welcomed before we even got out of our car as the hostess opened the door the moment I pulled up! The manager came over and sat down to introduce herself, and our waitress Mackenzie was super nice and attentive. Would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner, date night or family night, this place has something for everyone.

We had delicious shrimp, scallops and a very nice variety of beers. Our server, Ben, was awesome. We returned a second time and had very good wings and some more delicious beer. Good food, good beer, great service!!

Great seafood, great beer! My son says buffalo shrimp is his new favorite food. Stone crab was great. Everything was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and gracious though a tad slow. Wish we lived near here!
